We can't wait to meet you!

Temporary Changes to Grading and

Reporting in Response to COVID-19

The COVID-19 global pandemic has dramatically altered our daily lives. The biggest change for the educational community is the transition to remote learning, which includes assessing and reporting on a student’s progress.

To find an equitable solution to address the challenges of assessment, grading, and reporting, TK-5 students will receive a report card that includes comments only.

For more detailed information, read Superintendent Rosales' full letter HERE.

May 4 - 8: Teacher Appreciation Week

Don't forget to take a moment next week and share your appreciation for our amazing Vallecito staff.  They are working late into the night building an entirely new instructional program that reflects the best practices in remote learning for elementary-age children. It is challenging work, and I could not be more proud of our team.

MCSD Teacher & Staff Parade - Wednesday, May 6

Begins at 2:40 pm

We miss our students and want to safely wave "hello" from our cars.  Please wear your VAL wear, step outside, and wave to the parade of cars as we drive through our neighborhoods.

Special Guest Appearance by Dannie Jones and Ms. Elinson!  This would be a wonderful time for VAL families to make some signs and wave them off into retirement.

It is important that all families follow social distancing guidelines during the parade (wear masks and stay six feet apart).  Staff members will drive their own cars and wave to families from their driveways and sidewalks as we pass.

Click HERE for details on the parade route.

Looking forward to seeing all of you - even if it is only from a distance!

Creating Curiosity: Out the Front Door

We are thrilled to share an engaging Pre-K through 5th grade supplemental outdoor educational experience for students. In an effort to expand on student learning, Marin County Office of Education is filming a five-week television series that will highlight an interactive learning experience that can happen just outside of a student’s front door and within their natural environment!  The television series “Creating Curiosity: Out The Front Door” will be available in Spanish and English and will air on local television, marintv.org and YouTube beginning Monday, May 4, 2020!
