4.7.20 COVID-19 Community Update
Posted 4/7/20

Marin County Health and Human Services (HSS)  has released this afternoon a joint statement with six other Bay Area Counties confirming that in class instruction will remain suspended through the remainder of the school year. Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Mateo, Santa Clara and San Francisco Counties agreed to this decision for the health and safety of our communities at large and is a decision that supports the statewide efforts to increase social distancing and reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Marin County HSS released additional guidance yesterday to inform our community.

Although this news was anticipated based on last week’s comments made by Governor Newsome, and is necessary for public health, it still feels so disappointing and represents a great loss.

When remote learning resumes on Monday, April 13th, our educators will continue to plan instruction that focuses on the essential learning standards that they have identified. We will make decisions about grading and assessments, and map out activities that include never-before-seen alternatives. We will partner with our educators and parent organizations to plan for a new type of spring.

Thank you for your continued support as we partner in the education of our students.
